Hand-carved Tree of Life Puppet

Ida Bagus, part of my Balinese ‘family,’ hand carves these amazing Tree of Life puppets out of leather. The Balinese call them “puppets” because they tell a story about Balinese cultures and beliefs. The Tree of Life refers to the interconnectivity of all beings. Each one is an intricately-carved creation with an almost sacred feel—as if they are more than mere inanimate objects. They take months to create.
Along with the ‘Tree of Life’ puppet, Ida Bagus designed the hand-carved wooden holders exclusively for Brilliant Imports.
